Identify My Values
Worksheet: Discovering Your Values
Your values are your inner compass, guiding your decisions, shaping your relationships, and defining your sense of purpose. Understanding your values helps you live a life that feels aligned, meaningful, and fulfilling. This worksheet will take you through a journey of self-discovery, helping you uncover what truly matters to you.
What Are Values?
Values are deeply held beliefs about what is important to us. They influence how we think, feel, and act. When we live in alignment with our values, we feel a sense of ease and fulfillment. When we go against them, we may experience discomfort, frustration, or even burnout.
Think of values as a lighthouse —they help you navigate life’s challenges and decisions, ensuring you stay on course.

Exercise 2: Your Life in Action
Think about the times when you felt happiest and most fulfilled. These moments reveal the values that truly matter to you. Take a few minutes to reflect and write down your answers:
Describe a time when you felt deeply satisfied or proud of yourself. What were you doing? Who were you with?
What qualities were present in that moment? (For example, did you feel a sense of accomplishment, love, adventure, or creativity?)
If you could design your perfect day, what would it look like? How would you spend your time?
When making big decisions, what factors do you always consider?
Exercise 3: Prioritizing Your Values
Now that you have a list of values, it is time to prioritize them. Choose the top five values that feel the most essential to who you are. Write them in order of importance:
Now, imagine facing a tough decision where two of these values are in conflict. How would you choose? For example, if you value freedom and family, what would you do if a job opportunity required you to move far from your loved ones? Thinking through this can help clarify what matters most to you.
Exercise 4: Living Your Values
Understanding your values is just the beginning! The real magic happens when you align your daily actions with what truly matters to you. Answer the following:
How well do you currently live by your values on a scale of 1-10? (1 = not at all, 10 = completely aligned)
What small changes can you make to live more in alignment with your values?
What boundaries do you need to set to honor your values?
How will you hold yourself accountable for living by your values?
Final Reflection & Commitment
Take a moment to reflect on what you have discovered. Write a short commitment statement:
“I commit to honoring my values by ___________________________. I will remind myself daily that my values are my guide, and I will make choices that reflect what truly matters to me.”
Closing Thoughts
Your values are your personal guide to living a life that feels right for you. Keep this worksheet handy and revisit it whenever you feel stuck or uncertain. Living in alignment with your values will bring greater clarity, joy, and fulfillment.
Go forth and live boldly!
